I have ran Mobile One in every car I've owned with great results up until my STi (the recommended oil for it is Penzoil Rotala T6, diesel oil and I wouldn't hesitate running it in another turbo car in the future).
you guys get choices? I was told I have to have it changed at the dealer due to warranty I'm not sure what they run there..
The dealer uses ACDelco 5W30 Dexos 1 synthetic blend.
Your warranty does requires the use of a Dexos 1 certified oil. Any oil with this logo on the jug will be ok:

You do not need to go to the dealer to get your oil changed. But why wouldn't you - it's free for the first 2 years!
I know that Mobil 1 5W30 is Dexos certified. Back when Dexos was first specified - it took GM awhile to get it out to the distributors - so the factory spec'd Mobil 1 as a fully certified substitute.
Now Dexos certified oils are readily available from many oil suppliers and available at all the parts houses and the big box stores - WalMart, Target, KMart, etc...
I work for an ACDelco warehouse distributor. We have both the synthetic blend ACD Dexos and we have our house brand full synthetic Dexos certified oils available.
All good choices IMO if you have the 1.4L then you should use a full synthetic. I purchased Penzoil Platinum Plus because I got a good deal on it. Over at the Cruze forum they push Amsoil. Great product but expensive that's what I used in past.

that's nice … except that the recommended from the manual is a blend
They never told me I had free oil changes for 2 years?!.. I wonder if this lot doesn't do that? hmm what the hell. They did tell me their oil changes only cost 21 something.. which is cheaper than I could do it myself anyways.
