passing inspection with catless down pipe?

I was wondering if anyone has had an issue passing an inspection in ny, or anywhere with emissions testing with a catless down pipe. what I worry about is the state computer picking up that the p0420 code is not enabled.

I don't think I turned off the readiness monitor for the emissions though(honestly cant remember). I know it wont pass a visual inspection, but I think I can get by that. my concern is with the computer testing.

should I try getting a j fitting and turning the code back on for the emissions, or just swap the stock exhaust back on and drive it for a bit? that reinforced v clamp for the turbo is a pain to install!

my inspection is due this month.

I live in NC, stupid inspection.

I'm also wonder what can be done with the exhaust system, while of course staying within regs.

simple, you will not pass inspection with the catless downpipe on, there's a reason it's offroad use only, zzp's website even says they're downpipe is not legal for use on public roads, so if you want to pass inspection, just put the factory downpipe back on. that's really the only stock part you have to put back on unless you don't have a muffler

I had the same problem w MPfabs Anaconda. I swapped the stock dp/exhaust on for the test. Didn't even have the muffler connected and it passed no problem. Its a PITA to have to do but as Braaaap said, it does state the product is for off-road use only.... Joys of aftermarket.

Or just get the high flow cat and be done with it. I'll have to do that when I move to Oregon.

I got a o2 sensor extender for the second o2 sensor so try and trick the sensor to set the monitors. I also have a underbody panel that covers up most of the front part of the exhaust, so if they don't look for a front cat, I should be good.

however, with just the driving I have done this weekend, the emissions monitor has not set yet, but there is still no check engine light either. so we'll see how it goes this week.

I also have another smaller jet for the o2 sensor extender to try if this one doesn't work (I went with the medium size jet).
