Rear wiper hanging down.

So this is a interesting turn of events. I no longer own my Sonic, but my brother does now. My dad was going up to my uncles hunt car in the middle of no-where north Ontario. My brother had to leave later due to school. The only road to the camp is 58kms down a dirt logging road. The road is not well maintained, having loaded tractors hauling logs is not doing it any good.

A family friend who went up there too (went up with my dad), had come home early due to a family emergency. My brother let him take his Sonic back. That road will beat any car up, the family friend came back to where I live(& he parked his truck, too car pool up). I noticed on my old Sonic that the rear wiper was hanging down. The rough logging road probably broke it. I'm going wash it for my brother, since it saw 116kms of terribly maintained (& muddy, it rained lots) logging road. How would one fix the broken wiper, or suggest to my brother to fix it.

This is actually beginning to sound like a common issues with the rear wipers on the hatches. Mine dry rotted away earlier this year... I want to say around January.

To fix it is simple, Will just cost you 60 dollars in parts from the dealership and you only need basic hand tools.

The other Fix if you don't care for a rear wiper (I removed it from the Golf R and will do the same for the sonic) is to go to your local honda dealership, and ask them for Honda part number 82871-671-000. Can also buy it off amazon for like $3. But this method will have you pull the plastic panel off the rear hatch, disconnect the rear wiper motor and insert the plug once you remove the rear wiper motor.
