Remote ignition not working and check engine light on!!!!!

So out of nowhere my car didn't start with the remote and once I did start it with the key, the check engine light came on. Anyone else ever have this problem?. Oh and the remote still works because I can still lock and unlock the car with the with it.

have the code pulled at an autoparts store. they can reset it too... be interesting to see what code it was.

Remote start will not work with a cel on. It's a "safety" feature.

Thanks for the feed back guys. Ok so the very next day I decided to go to the store during my lunch break, and my car was perfectly fine. No check engine light and it started with the remote. Weird huh. Any explanation for that??

I noticed it won't remote start when hazards are on as well
