Rocker Cover/Gasket replacement

So I have been having various issues with my Sonic......engine light on a couple times a week, poor fuel mileage, poor idling. Well my dealership replaced my rocker (valve) cover and gasket the other day. Anyone else have that replaced in a Sonic?

Are you still under warranty. If so then they might if you explain what is going on. In detail. I'm have a problem with my rear bumper its a total different shade if white then the car and I have no idea why and there giving me the run around about covering it under the bumper to bumper

There's been a few isolated cases of this on the 1.4t. There's a pressure relief diaphragm (idk the actual name) that is molded into the valve cover, almost looks like another spot for an oil cap.

If it goes the car runs like you described.

He stated the dealer ordered a valve cover so they are fixing it.

Good luck on the bumper. If you're low miles it shouldn't be to hard to convince them It's a factory flaw and thus their responsibility to fix.

Hopefully. I tried one dealer near me and he won't bc I'm the second owner and doesn't understand how it was done unnoticed until now. I baught the with 7000 on it. It was lease out of Florida so I got it bc i new there wasn't any rust or anything reported to carfax

Bumpers look different on light colors because the primer is different over the plastic vs. the metal.

Or your car was re-painted. Either way, no warranty issue there.

Well come to find out it was painted. Nothing was on chevy report or on carfax. I'm guessing someone wanted to touch up a scrap on ur own and get the wrong paint

i had the same problem with my sonic and the valve cover. mine was replaced and everything is fine now. i was getting lots of codes. even my traction control light was coming on at a stop sign. all is gone after the valve cover replacement.
