slight engine hesitation at 1800-2200 RPM

Does anyone else experience slight engine hesitation around 1800-2200 RPM? It only occurs under very light acceleration and only in that RPM range.. It's a slight hesitation and then after that it's normal power.

I will say to my ears my intake also sounds different during that time also.

Lucky it's only so slight....mine got progressively worse until it was almost undrivable.
Check your plugs and coil packs for any signs of arching. Then upgrade plugs to the ones recommended in the Cruze forum.

YouBeTails is pointing to the copper plugs that they recommend over there. P/N is BKR7E. VW turbo guys run them too. O'Reilly's usually stocks them. Autozone doesn't

Theres copper plugs but also I believe an iridium or platinum option as well.

Yeah but imo the coppers run better regardless and are a stage colder

Several times now I have noticed this only under very light throttle, almost like the engine is misfiring. As soon as I speed up it goes away and will run perfect. At first I thought it could be bad gas or something under the hood might have got wet. It only seems to show up on rare occurence and seems to come out of nowhere.

Glad I'm not the only one. Mines not every time in that rpm range either. Weird

I have been noticing this issue on a more frequent basis and I highly doubt there is any easy diagnosis or any trouble codes that will pinpoint this problem under warranty. It happens so randomly I doubt if the service department would even be able to recreate this on a test run. I guess I will have to learn to accept and live with this annoying issue. After all these years of production you would think GM would have worked the bugs out of this engine...

After 2 more weeks of daily commuting mine is definitely recreateable. It's right sround 2k rpms in everygear but 1st because it shifts so quickly. I'm trying hugher octane fuel and we shall see if it improves it. I just hit 1,000 miles so it's not spark plugs.

My 2018 did this initially. It has to do with the fuel tables. I started running 93 on every fill up.

I contacted GM, the 2nd Gen ECU takes a really long time to run a cycle, so it will run the same timing, fuel, air, etc tables until the next cycle. I didn’t really understand what they were telling me lol. But the mechanic recommended I run high octane for 1k miles before taking it for service.
After a week or so on 93, it would only hesitate when I was basically empty on gas. Once I cleared the tank and had almost pure 93, no hesitation after 800 miles or so. I’ve gone probably 20k miles now with no hesitation.

Sadly nope. I'm at 3500 miles and I have been using higher octane for over 1 month and it's still just as bad. Fuel didn't effect anything. As far as fuel tables I have over 15 full ups same problem

It's not about the stock plugs being worn out, it's about them being garbage and easily replaced with a better grade of plug. There is a bottomless thread on the Cruze forum about this same problem.

It'll have to wait until spring. I didnt have time this fall to get it done. One of the other members tried both suggested grades, but found that the copper plugs worked the best out of the given options.
