sticky gum on side of car

Hi folks:
Any ideas of how to remove sticky gum from the side of my car? It's in strands. I've read on the web about using ice. Anyone have any experience with this? Of course I don't want to damage the paint or finish. Thanks.

try WD 40 on a rag and rub it off. Works for really sticky stuff removal.

So I had a waterless car wash product on hand (Eco Touch), and I thought, what the heck, I'll try it, and it did the trick! There are just a couple of spots that I will use the WD40 to remove.

It was so weird...there were strands of gum, not just a glob. Wonder how it got there.

Whatever, glad it's gone!

This should come with a word of caution. It doesn't take a lot of rubbing to dull and damage the clearcoat. Be very gentle and don't rub it like you're cleaning the sink.

I like using kerosene, works really good, minimal effort, and doesnt damage the paint like other products.
