If someone ever comes out with a gauge pod for our Sonic's, I'll be adding a temp gauge this way. The only downside is it won't really be monitoring temp until you are at operating temperature because as we all know coolant doesn't start flowing through the radiator until then. But they are a very convenient way to add a temp sensor.

The drain plug for the engine block is a good place to mount a threaded coolant sensor. Just make sure there's plenty of clearance for the probe though. You'll need to use a thread extension if there isn't.
Brass sensors are soft enough that you don't feel them getting smushed when you wrench them in...learning that cost me a sensor and damaged the gauge from the short.

Scangauge/Ultragauge will provide you with coolant temp info just by plugging into the ODB port.

Btw...what are you looking at??
I was in the washroom and thought the white walls made a nice background. So I set my camera up on a shelf and put it on a timer. The sun was just coming in through the window so I turned away from it so it didn't blind me and make me have squinty face/eyes. The inside light was still brighter than the outside.
