Have a question about that electronic sensor connected to the thermostat housing. I have a check engine light with a code that relates to a preheating element in the thermostat. It is that little black 2 pin connector attached to the thermostat housing. Evidently it does not simply pull out and replace, even though there appears to be a c-clip holding it in place. It is in the red circled area.
I was wondering if anyone knew of there was a FUSE that connects to it somewhere and it number before I change out the thing.
The car is a 2015 1.8 flex fuel hatchback/auto. Obviously it connects to the ECU which sends pulses to it to check its operation that sends fault codes, so one would thin the circuit is fuse protected somehow. The fault code indicates a short or ground I believe. It's been awhile since I checked it.
Been driving it without any apparent problem other than the check engine light that garage mechanics take great delight in using as their personal cash registers.
The other question of the day is: why put a sensor in a metal housing and hold it down with a metal C-clip, and not allow its simple removal to replace.
Must be SUPER-GLUED in by the factory to avoid leaks...whatever.
