Turn signal-induced steering wheel squeak

Edit: Never mind on the video I tried to post for this... Not liking how it turned out with my photo sharing site. I may try something else later.

Anyway, there is a squeak coming from the steering column that only occurs when the turn signal is on and the wheel is turned. Usually does this on right turns and less frequently when turning left. Turning the wheel without the turn signal on does not produce these squeaks, so this is a defect with the turn signal cancellation mechanism I would suspect. Either that or there is a crying puppy stuck in my steering column.

The strangest part is this condition depends on warm to hot interior temperatures to make itself known. It did not do this until summer arrived. In the morning on the way into work, no squeak. Later on after the car has been baking outside at work all day, it will squeak as I leave the office. By the time I get home 45 minutes later with the A/C blasting the whole way, it no longer makes this noise. If I decide to switch off the A/C and the interior warms up a bit, it starts squeaking again.

Obviously, I am aware the car is defective and this needs to be repaired under warranty. However I'm mostly interested in seeing if anyone has ran into this and if so what the cause and resolution was. Searching came up with nothing for this particular "quirk." Thanks for any input you may have on this. :)

I took a couple videos this morning, hopefully they work.

This morning: Nice and cool. No noise.

This afternoon: HOT! And squeak, creak, and crrrrraaaack....

Just a "slight" difference in how this car behaves based on temperature. ;) I agree that something is expanding and contracting. But this seems excessively noisy and if nobody else is hearing it in theirs, it's a defect and hopefully not a "normal operating characteristic." I'm optimistic that means a better chance of getting it fixed but who knows.

I know I need to get it in soon but it's going to be a busy few weeks. I may not be able to get this looked at by the time it cools down and will no longer reliably make these noises.
