ZZP vs BNR downpipe

My ZZP had bolts.
Fitment on mine at the turbo was problematic thou. The mating face for the v-band clamp was too narrow and it took some work to get the clamp to tighten up enough to seal the turbo to DP interface.
I got it to work without much fuss but it was annoying. I had an early production one so It's entirely possible that's been improved, it'd be an easy supplier level fix.
The gasket is fot the DP to midpipe. It's a metal gasket and reusing it is no issue.

Just installed the ZZP piece today, fitment was fine, no sealing issues for me. Re-used the stock 3-bolt flange gasket, it stays attached to the exhaust pipe anyway so it's no big deal. I had to get my own bolts as I bought it used and didn't get any with it, but again no biggie there, 8x1.25, 30mm length was fine to re-use the stock locking nuts on them. Highly suggest lock-nuts if you aren't going to re-use the stock ones.

Had MPF's stuff been available I would have bought it. From what I've seen of his work it is amazing stuff. I also get the vibe that he's selling the stuff he'd want in his car if money was barely a concern, as in an enthusiast making stuff for enthusiasts.
Now don't get me wrong I'm very happy with by ZZP parts, I just really respect what I see in MPF's company.

I should have the 100cell cats in this week, so I'd expect to be building them around the second week in October, and 7-10days after that I should have enough on deck for at least a little while.
I really appreciate the comments guys. I am a true enthusiast. The parts I'm offering are EXACTLY what's on my own car, and built to the same standard. If I wouldn't be proud of it on my own car, I'm not selling it to you.

yea if the mpfab was available earlier i would've gotten it instead of the zzp.. but i have no complaints about the zzp but the 3in would've been sweet..
Great level-headed post and I agree. I've had many downpipes over the years for different cars. The only time I ever regretted a purchase was when I got a cheaper one, but it was a pain in the ass to install due to the way it was manufactured. Now I buy parts based on their level of precision and attention to detail making it as painless to install as possible. Usually the parts that do that are also the top performing, but do cost more. The cost is justified in my eyes, as well as hold a higher resale value.

Well it may be to reduce the smell or create a specific sound. I've had turbo cars where it didn't smell catless, but I've also had turbo cars that did smell catless. Also if you remove too much restriction then cold starts will sound awful and create raspiness.
Thank you. I'm putting a cat on there because I feel like it's the responsible thing to do. It would be cheaper to offer them without catalyst, but instead I decided to equipped them with a catalyst that will in no way hurt performance, but does remove a good of the crap that comes out of the tail pipe.
