I'd like to ask what your experience is with a Sonic automatic, shifting it from drive to neutral as you're approaching a traffic light or other obstruction. It's something I've done for the last 12 years with my Chevy Prizm and now that I'm getting a Sonic Turbo automatic, I'm curious if the same strategy is helpful for things like brake and engine wear, or if features such as fuel cutoff and any characteristics specific to the auto make this a bad strategy. My Prizm is one of the apparently very few from that model year that does not burn oil, so I'm thinking it must have helped there, but I've never done it before with an automatic (and between stop-start freeway congestion and the M32 trans, decided against a Sonic manual).
