It is not a New model it is new Package! and I have not seen a Model with a new package that was only 2k more than the last years top of the line package that was not included in rebates.
Now a very high priced package such as the Camaro ZL1 or a Corvette ZR1 that is a differnet Animal and usually never have rebates that apply.

It's a 2013 model. Rebates on end of year models are often not carried over to the new year model.
The only rebate I know of is the 250 which ends in a week or so. On top of that isn't it common for rebates to apply to only the older model year?

Your statment is NOT true.
Higher rebates are on 2012 year vehicles but if you look at the Chevy website you will see 2013 models are still rebated including Sonic's that are on dealer lots now. So if you can get the same rebate on a 2012 or 2013. The Love it or leave it is only for 2012 Models. I myself would opt to get the 2013 model because you will be loosing less when driving off the lot!

OK. But still the only rebate I see for Sonics is the 250 love it or leave it rebate and that ends very soon.

That is the only rebate now thru 9-4 or No rebate and take love it or leave it (Meaning you have option to return the product within 60 days) on 2012 Models.

Not to dwell too much on semantics, and the following not withstanding, there are rebates directly available to the consumer and rebates that go to the dealer and may or may not be passed on to the consumer. So you are right, in general there are always rebates, but a dealer rebate (incentive) may not be generally known where the consumer rebate (incentive) will usually be well advertised therefore generally known.

RS with manual MSRP is $20,995, with automatic is $22,280. Both include destination of $795. Sunroof is an additional $850 making the total price with manual $21,845 MSRP or $23,130 MSRP. Not sure where your contact got his information, but his is wrong.

When he told me this over the phone it was before official pricing had been released to the dealers and before he seen the actual invoice. So like I said it was an estimate. Where did you get these numbers though?

WOW, 23,130 for sunroof? My LTZ isn't gonna be close to that - glad I didn't want the RS.
(At least I *believe it's not)
RS "upgrade" isn't worth $2k to me.

-'better' suspension
-'better' exhaust
-rear discs (slightly worth it but a BBK would do so much more for the $)
-flat steering wheel
-ugly fascia

The only difference for HB and RS is that the tip gently curves up slightly - hilarious - call me when it's Z-Spec

No swapping with an RS, though I'm sure it can be done.
You can replace a grill in an afternoon - I personally don't like the RS fascia anyway - looks like someone got bored.
Sticker or no sticker, the difference in price is the same, except a dealer is way less likely to play ball on a special edition than an LTZ so it's still advantage LTZ.
