When I come online and check the forum without signing on, the time listed for an entry is often several hours ahead of my Eastern time. If I sign on, it is changed to the actual time of posting. Why?

I'm a possible/maybe/probable RS buyer. Been boning up on all the info in this forum. (If you don't like my driving, get off the sidewalk.)
