    Lower radiator temperature?

Has anyone measured (using a IR thermometer) the temperature of your radiator at the lower/bottom (e.g. by the radiator drain plug)? At normal operating temp, I measured around 85 degrees F. Wondering if that's normal (i.e. not too cool).

    Sonic 1.4 engine rattle/squeak?

Anyone know what might be causing this sound? Have you heard this sound before? I replaced the vapor canister purge valve last year when I had a rattling noise and that ratting noise went away. Wondering if this is caused by something else or is it the vapor canister purge valve again. The...

    Overheating debug help needed

My 2015 Chevy Sonic 1.5 LTZ has been overheating. I brought the car to a shop to have it flushed (thinking maybe something's blocked) but still having overheating issues. Here's what's been done: 1. Thermostat removed (to eliminate sticky thermostat possibility) 2. Both coolant temperature...

My 2015 Sonic 1.4 LTZ has been having its overheating warning light go off after a few minutes of driving. ECT via ODB2 shows temp goes up to 260 F (the overheating warning comes on around 257 F). If I blast the heater, temps go into the more normal operating range of 220 to 230 (although I...

Trunk Lock Actuator Motor for 2015 Chevy Sonic Hatchback

Is the actuator motor for the 2015 Sonic hatchback the same as the actuator motor for the sedan? I'm looking to replace mine but all the online parts sites note "sedan", with no mention of "hatchback". If you know the part number for the hatchback trunk lock actuator, that'd be great! Also...

    Help/Advice on Coolant Leak

I've been trying to figure out the source(s) of my 2015 Chevy Sonic 1.4 (100k miles) coolant leak for months. I've replaced the water pump, coolant thermostat, coolant water outlet, coolant hoses, leaky hose clamps, coolant reservoir. I even tried using K-Seal, hoping there was a minor leak...
