I have a 2019 SONIC and the water pump went around 40,000. In 2015 there was a recall on SONIC water pumps. Is the issue still happening? Should the be another recall issued?

I just got my Sonic towed to the garage for overheating and no coolant. They tell me the water pump is leaking onto the serpentine belt. The SONIC only has 40,000 miles. Seems early for a water pump to go? I read that in 2011-2015 there was a recall for SONIC's with the same issue. Is...
