1.4 stock tune

Does anyone have the stock tune saved after using HP Tuners? My current ecm is tuned so poorly, the car can't be driven in the cold since it won't start, and person that did it locked the ecm. I have to buy a new ecm and reflash to stock since I have nothing to start with.

But I am leery of everything working trying to do it myself. Really don't want to see how much the dealer will charge to do this. I really needed to knock this out this week.

Are you an HP Tuners owner? A number of stock tunes are in the tune repository, and there are nuances between the years.

Also, keep in mind ... I've never used pay-for-play tuning so I just don't know... if you are an HP Tuners owner, shouldn't you just be able to take a stock tune, change the VIN to be correct and do a write entire over the current tune on there? Or is the PCM literally locked from *any* read/write operations?

I recall people in my LNF days having to do that over like Trifeca tunes and the like, but that is of course a different model of PCM.

I am running HP Tuners. I did find a tune from a stock Cruze and Sonic with manual for 2013. But it is either a Trifecta tune or someone who had HP Tuners and put a tunerlock on it. I can run VCM scanner but it fails when I go to read the ecm on the editor. Due to this, the ecm is completely useless to me. There is nothing that can be done. I have been searching for a way to completely wipe the ecm but I have read that even if you can (there is a way, not sure how other than cracking it open), it will still be locked. Supposedly there are some that can override these locks, but they will not say how since they don't want people knowing to steal their own tunes.

I tried my turbo Cobalt, which was tuned by ZZP, and I was able to read it just fine. So I don't have any set up issues.

What year Sonic? The HPT repo has 2012 and 2013 stock files in it. If it has a Trifecta tune in it and you cant remove it, you're SOL and need a new ECM. If it has a HPTuners Tunerlocked ECM, I think you can flash over it but not completely sure (I never lock anything).
