after the 1st free oil chg I will be doing my own changing...
question: what size is the nut on top of the filter?
question: for those that have done there own changing...
when you pop the top cap off does oil run out everywhere? or does it just drain back into the engine?
just bought a new filter from chevy $7.53 OTD...
anyone have @ Garmin 50 GPS on top of the dash? if so do you run a USB port cable from the sm. glove box outlet to the unit?

I think he is referring to when you pull the oil filter cap out.
when I take it out I hold it to where it is just out of the slot for the filter and let it drain, then hold a rag under it and it wont get oil drops everywhere.

Also, when you do change your oil, leave the pan unplugged until you have taken the old filter out, not sure how it works, but it still holds oil in the filter. Once you take it off it will run through the engine and drain with the rest.

so when I chg the oil take the cap off and just let the oil gravity drain out of the bottom case after taking off the drain plug? Good advise as there is a small area in the oil cap to get to. Any one get a good deal on an after market air intake? Like KnN, Airaid,? Tryin to find one for under $ 200...This forum is fun for sure. Dude

Ddm works has the 1.8 intake on sale right now for under 200. Get it with a foam filter unless you are gonna tune
