This isnt that bad for OEM wheels. I bent 3 wheels, 17inch RS wheels, over the winter. Dealer was gonna charge 2000$ to replace the 3 wheels. I laughed. Luckily I had the "wheel warranty" through some 3rd party company they sold me when I got my car. Unluckily they neglected to inform me that it wasn't an official GM Warranty when I bought it and it took a week just to get an adjuster out to look at my car. The dealer stated they had to keep my car on site just in case the adjuster showed up since it could be at any time... they never offered me a loaner or a rental or a time frame for the repair. When the adjuster finally showed up they didn't want to pay to replace the wheels, instead they wanted to try to repair them. Queue another 3 day wait to get a wheel repair person to show up and fix them. It was shortly after this whole fiasco I upgraded my insurance to include rental coverage.
I bought a set of aftermarket wheels for the summer, and have an extra one just in case I manage to break one. Total cost for 4 wheels and tires with TPMS? 1100$...
Sorry /rant
So, OEM wheels are stupid expensive and probably just as good as an OEM set strength wise.
