2012 vs. 2013 Stereo Harness?

I see that PAC lists compatibility for 2012 Sonics but not 2013 (confirmed via their support--which is likely outsourced) with the "Add an Amp" harness... Item#: PAC-AA-GM44

Anyone been able to try this in a 2013 Sonic? I really don't want to t-tap my speaker wires, I'd rather just plug up and run RCA's to the back.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

(Also, the Sonic is still in the body shop. They say I should get her back NYE!) :banana:

Keep me posted on the attempt with your 2013! I'm just worried there's a reason they list 2012 and not 2013, i.e. wiring differences between the two years' harnesses.

Pretty stoked to get started though...even if I am a little afraid of tearing apart the interior of my car, drilling through the firewall, etc... LOL. With great risk comes great reward though.

Huh. They told me it was explicitly not compatible. Differing stories, but that was a month or 2 ago when I emailed.

Did you get a chance to try it out this weekend? Anxious to hear!

So I got part way done before I ran in to a snag. I got the AA-GM44 in, it's a bitch but it fits. Had to take off the cover to fit where I put it but I wanted to be able to adjust it if necessary without too much disassembly. The connector fits the head unit. No idea if it works yet because as I went to remove the door sills I realized the weather stripping in these cars is either glued or taped and I didn't want to pull it off without finding out which first.

Guess the weather stripping doesn't have to come out in this car so I'm working on it more right now.
