2013 hatch fog bulbs

wanted to make the fog lamp bulbs much brighter for nite vision and thought installing Yellow bulbs would do the trick, but I went from 35W bulbs to 55W and they got so hot they melted the socket plastic...one bulb is o.k.....the dr side bulb is just taped in and aligned to work..."Please don't put in 55W bulbs"..
question: how much is involved in taking out the dr side bulb socket and put in a new one???? Does the whole front end have to come off? Sure could use some step by step info to fix this problem....

Now have h8, 2500k, 35w, $17.50 @ pr. yellow fog bulbs in and they are damn nice, really help the nite vision more.

I really need to figure out why I can see find in the Sonic with stock headlights and no fog lights and yet so many people seem to be almost blind.

Now, if you're an older person I can completely understand but it seems more often to be teenagers and guys in their 20s than anything. For example, Yosemite Sam...........................

I know for me the choice to go to a yellow fog was an easy one.
I do alot of driving in poor conditions. I also drive through farm land areas with lots of deer and fox.
The yellow lights provide a better side light in rain and bad weather IMO.
They tend to be a wider beam of sorts and I find they light up the deer slightly better for me as well.
I drove truck for many years with the same setup and I liked it.

I'm with you on this. I had been driving a 97 Mustang with cloudy, crap, and dim lights. The Sonic has better lights if you compare the Mustang high beams compared to the Sonic low beams.

I'm rather impressed with the light output from the Sonic. Keep in mind that I have great night vision and rarely use high beams at night, except during deer season. If these cars came with factory HIDs as an option, I would have ordered it. But that would have been more for a reassurance that I have a better set of lights.
