2014 Sonic Key fob fell into a bucket of water

My daughter dropped her 2014 Chevy Sonic key fob in a bucket of water and is out of town with only one key. Is there a way to start the car without a working key fob? The key is fine, but the people she has spoken with say since the fob is fried the car won't work.

My understanding is if you're talking about a regular key, not a Start/Stop button on the dash, you should be fine. All the fob does is lock/unlock the doors, the trunk, etc.

If you have the Start/Stop button on the dash, yes, you might have a problem. Someone with that kind of system might be able to answer that.
