2015 Sonic LTZ - Battery and MalFunction Indicator

Hello,
Our 2015 Sonic LTZ suddenly wouldn't start one day. Had to jump start the car.
Noticed that day that passenger side headlamp is out.

The next day, car started fine and is running okay. But in the evening the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" has lit up while driving.

Got the car under Chevy CPO Program, bumper-to-bumper warranty has now expired, but we do have the following (from the website)

Emission Select Component Ltd Wty
Certified Pre-Owned Powertrain LTd Wty and a
Special Coverage

Should I take it to the dealer and get them to look at it under warranty?

I was trying to find out if this would be covered. if yes, then would go to dealer, if not, then would go to local shop.

Couldn't get any shops in my area to read the code and provide information.

It's best to replace a battery every 4 years or sooner in cars these days.
The batteries have thinner plates and can suffer intermittent or dead cells which can cause all sorts of electrical problems. . . . not just failure to start.

Our Sonics are low cost small cars. Several items are therefore kind of "wear and replace items" or just need replacement due to heat under the hood.
Cooling system items in particular may fail like the radiator , fan, coolant tank, thermostat housing and water outlet.

If a person is handy, many of these items can be replaced by the owner.

We are fortunate that the parts prices are relatively low cost. It's the labor that will drive a repair up as it will with any car.
