Hi all - hope someone can give me some ideas. I'm about at wit's end with this thing. 2017 1.8, about 108k miles. Bought it used about a year and a half ago. If I wasn't upside-down in it, I would get rid of it.
The primary problem: No power/bucking acceleration. No codes. Once in a great while (maybe once per month or 2) when it starts bucking it'll lay out a smoke screen. But I don't think it's oil.
So I did have some codes recently, took it in to get it read, the shop told me it was MAF. Replaced the MAF, car ran great for a few days, then back to the same ol' same 'ol, but this time without codes. Of note, it definitely seems to be worse after driving for a while, especially on hot days.
I'm sure it has something to do with fuel/air, and probably too lean, but beyond that I'm stumped.
I pulled the air intake hose today to check it, no leaks or cracks found, rubber is still squeezable.
Other work done since I first bought it (just for the sake of being thoroughly informative):
-- New plugs
-- New coil pack
-- New PCV
-- New VVT solenoids (was having VVT errors as well, those are now gone)
-- New evap purge valve
I've been through the forums, googled the heck out of it, and I think I've covered most things I've found, but of course I could have overlooked something important.
