9.5 too big??

I'm looking at wheels for the RS hatch and am really liking the idea of going with something OEM look (from another model in the lineup). I found a set I like but I'm not sure if they are too wide?

17 x 9.5 -- 54 offset -- 7.38 backspacing

They're on a totally different bolt pattern so an adapter would be required no matter what.

Anyone running something this wide and have any input? Especially with regard to this width wheel with a lowering kit as I'll be adding the GM Performance kit sooner or later. Thanks!

I run 18x9.5 et25 so you should be fine with adapters. Possibly 25mm adapters I'm excited to see more sonics with fat tires!

I will add though, if you plan on "going lower" your gonna need a generous amount of "stretch" on your tires. And you won't have very much of a sidewall due to such tight spacing. My wheels clear all day but I'm also not running a 245/50 or bigger tire either. That's where you gonna have to ask the great walker Morgan on Facebook haha

Thanks for the input - those wheel look dope! Great stance too, very euro look and really makes the body lines pop with your setup.

I'm only looking to go slightly lower, more to eliminate body roll than for looks.

These are what I'm thinking of running, they're a Z06 replica. Similar finish to the stock but some more flair.

I work at a Chevy Dealer so I like the idea of finding an OEM look wheel, and I'll be using the car for some promotional stuff so I want to put as much GM stuff on as possible to help as an accessories sale platform, thus the GM Performance suspension and possibly Borla exhaust if the boss will help offset the ridiculous cost!

Inner clearance in the front will be tight if you go with a 25mm adapter. (Overall specs would be 17x9.5 +29) Mine barely clears at 18x9.5 +27.
