Having some trouble with our 2014 RS trim.
We haven't used the AC in a couple months since it stopped working due to a leak.
Two weeks ago we had the dealer replace a AC line that was the source of the leak and refill the system.
Things were good for a day or two, maybe even a whole week but Now the car has developed a new problem.
The AC is only working some of the time, it feels like it's more likely to work when it's cool out vs when it's hot.
So your driving, you turn the fan on and hit the button for the AC.
Sometimes the light comes on and the AC works, But more often it seems like it takes 5-10 minutes of driving before the light comes on and cool air blows out of the vents.
When the light isn't on the system is blowing hot air, Probably ambient since we live in Tucson.
Occasionally when the system works it will dis-engage on it's own without pressing the button and we go from cool air to warm.
Took the car to the dealer today for a re-diagnosis and they say it's a problem in the controls and quoted me about $300 to replace them, They did say that the AC works on 'speed 5' every time.
I have issues with this diagnosis starting with the fact that the knob only goes to 4, Also I don't understand how the fan speed setting would cause the system to engage and disengage?
We have the car back and the dealer didn't charge me for today's diagnosis, what can we look at to try and diagnose this myself or help the dealer diagnose it?
