Anyone else's rear view mirror creaks?

Only thing I have noticed with my new sonic so far is that the plastic rear view mirror creaks on rough roads, especially uphill. It's kinda annoying. Going to see if the front face of the mirror comes off and may just use some silicone to dampen it, not a big issue but annoying none the less.

I suppose it shakes a lot for it to creak. Mine shakes a ton, and apparently many of them do, based on the loaners I've been in. In fact, I've gotten used to the fact that all images in the rearview are blurry at speeds of more than 40 and windows open.

We're talking about the middle rearview mirror mounted to the windshield right? Mine not only shakes but you can move it with your hand and see the play...the play seems to be where it mounts to the windshield. Yes it does make things in the rearview mirror blurry. When I switch to night view you feel the play/movement. Is this something they can fix under warranty or is it like you say; they all do it as per design ?

Once the dealership inspects your vehicle they can determine if everything is operating as designed or if any adjustments need to be made. If you're still within the New Vehicle Limited Bumper to Bumper time frame repairs should be covered. Please let us know when you have the opportunity to go in for a diagnosis. Thanks Amber,

I just my got 2012 Sonic used but it is still within the new car warranty. I'm making a list of things for them to check.. nothing major..the rearview mirror
is on the list. Other minor things on the list.

Mine was fixed under warranty but still shakes. Not a huge deal but can be annoying sometimes.

Doesn't shake at all but just creaks on rough roads. Its hard to explain, its just that annoying plastic on plastic sound sort of like a ticking rather than a creaking I suppose. Heck I know its only a 20k car but still.

Have you tried tightening the set screw that holds the mirror to the windshield? If you remove the large plastic cover that goes over the mirror where it connects to the windshield you will find the Allen screw. The cover is in two halves and separates in the middle.
I hope this solves your problem.
