Armor-all and other cleaners

Hi all

A few years ago I had a gmc sierra and I would use armor all on a regular basis; one day the dash started to peal, and I took it to the dealership; they replaced the dash under warranty; but the technician told me not to use armor all on gm dashboards/plastics, that it damages it in the long run...

Since then i've been using turtle wax protectant and cleaners, with no problems... but was wondering what others used; and if some products have had an adverse effect on Sonic dashboards and trim?

Surf City Garage- Dash Away. It doesn't leave behind a shine like some of the others do, but it does CLEAN. And boy oh boy does it work. I started using the stuff at the recommendation of a classic car guy I knew. I was trying to clean an interior on an 85 Monte Carlo. He used it on his vehicles, show and daily driver, and they always looked great. He said you couldn't pay him to put Amor-All on his vehicles.

Then as far as protectants go they have a couple good products to go with the Dash-away. Black edge is good for black interiors and Big Block works on everything.

They also have a leather cleaner and protectant that I've never tried, but supposedly it's good for the leather, keeps it clean and protects and conditions.

I just generally like surf city products, their exterior detail spray and wax work great too. Not trying to sound like an Ad over here. I just like their stuff.

I absolutely HATE ArmorAll. I especially hate when car washes charge $20 or so to detail your car, and all they do is spray a dollar's worth of ArmorAll all over everything, leaving it feeling like slime!

If the chemicals you use dont cost 300 for a complete kit its garbage (ive been told)

Meguiars, mother, griots, lexol is what I use because I cant justify 89 bucks for wheel wax lmao

Wizards Tire and Vinyl Shine - works great. Cleans well and no fake looking shine.

I personally prefer 303 Automotive Protectant. I have also used 303 Aerospace Protectant, with satisfactory results. It originally was engineered for aerospace and aviation applications; if its good enough for this harsh environment, it should be adequate to protect our cars.
