Thats how a lot of springs seem to be designed. My Eibachs on my Cobalt were like that.

This bothers me. Coils bunched together like this do nothing.

Do the front springs look any better?

I'll take a pic of the front springs later tomorrow afternoon...
Last I checked, they looked like your average spring set up.

It's official.
The drop is 1" front and 1.2" rear. The springs didn't really sag much further than when it was first installed.

Very nice! Those are the #'s I hope to get from the Eibachs.

Meh, haven't had the chance to upload a pic. The front springs look like your average springs though. (no bunching)

Those coils are there to take up slack when the car is lifted. To prevent the spring from popping out on a lift or even a large bump.

In addition. I have B&G springs on my Mazda Rx7. Picked them cuz they had the biggest drop, but they worked out great.

I don't plan on doing springs till some decent shocks come out. Higher rate springs on a factory shock is a recipe for failure. Or at least bounce.

Maybe so, but it would take a while. My guess is they would still last a couple years. Long enough for somebody to develop a good adjustable shock.

Hopefully they come out with em soon for our cars. I would love to have them as well.

ive been calling them for the last 4 weeks and thye keep saying call next week and we will have info for you. called again same story.... so sick of these companys lieing. if you dont know just say it.

It's safer and more credible to say wait a week than to give a solid date and not meet it. Diablosport did the latter with the TCM support (was supposed to be available on release than tuned into a few weeks that ended up being 6 months). If they would have been honest you wouldn't be able to find 49 pages of pissed off GM customers that bought their inTunes with the promise of TCM support. Now that it's out all is peachy though. But there is a point that saying wait another week gets the same place as not meeting a self imposed dead line.

The springs are holding up just fine for me. Still love them.

I'll swing by to see what's up. I still need to get my stock springs back from them too... lol

How are the B&G springs in performance and overall quality, do they ride well over time?

Performance is good, overall quality is also good and I have had no issues with ride quality, the springs have close to 50k on then with no issues

It's for spring rebound.

They are inactive or Dead coils vs active coils.

Coils bunched close together like that is a way of making progressive rate or dual rate springs.

Although coils that are collapsed like that at normal ride height look to be more for rebound or suspension droop like Llia said.

Edit: Didn't mean to butt in, these types of springs perplexed me for a long time. As a kid I was into R/C cars (still kind of am) and a popular car back then was the Tamiya Frog. Its rear springs look like this:

I'm no expert on springs or suspensions but apparently the way they work (since the wire diameter is constant) is the closer together coils will bottom first becoming solid. As this happens the father apart coils start compressing faster than if the spring had all evenly spaced coils essentially making the spring compress in a more progressive vs linear fashion.
