CEL help!

2019 Sonic RS hatchback

So last month it started to get cold in Las Vegas and I noticed the car kinda falls on its self when accelerating and lower speeds in the mornings. Once the engine warms up after about 10 mins it goes away .

It didn't produce a CEL but it had:

P2228 -
P2227
P0113
P00F4
P0097

All stored as faults.

Pretty much all doing with the MAS sensor. So I went to the parts store and changed it out.. when I did this the check engine light immediately came on and and was now showing P2228 and P0113.

I went back to the parts store and also got a MAP sensor and changed that out. That took the CEL off the dash but it's still showing as a fault code but not triggering a CEL.

None of the issues were resolved other than 3 of the codes going away on a reset. The car still falls on its face at low speeds until it warms up.


Anyone have any suggestions????

I just got this car from the dealer about 2 months ago and it's been nothing but issues after issues with tires and coolant leaks.

On the 1.4 there are a few vacuum lines that can become cracked or even fall off over time. they are under the intake manifold and are black with a green tracer line on them. See if you can feel around the intake manifold for anything unplugged. How many miles are on the car? If it’s upwards of 100k it might not be a bad idea to do spark plugs - I just replaced them on my car.
Sorry to hear of the issues after only recently purchasing the car. These engines are known for coolant leaks— they use plastic Thermostat housing and outlet manifold that leak over time. They are not hard to replace and are not expensive but can down the whole car. Take a look around the sides of the engine for these plastic parts and see if your leaks are from there.

There is also a known issue regarding the PCV system on these cars - This does not sound like your problem however when the time comes (typically a slightly rough idle or “squeaking” front crank seal on shutdown, or a hissing noise from the PCV diaphragm on the valve cover) be sure to check into the common problems with this system. There are a few remedies out there for this system as well.
