Chopped Sonic

No I didn't do it, but with the seemingly excessive height of the sonic, how do you think it would look with a "chopped" roof a la hot rod? I don't know crap about photoshop, so I have no idea how to attempt something like that.

What say those of you who do know what you are doing?

Usually modern cars don't make good rat rods but it would still be interesting to see what one would look like. Now why somebody would do that is beyond me, other than the fact that they're trying to win a cheap plastic trophy at a car show off course.

Converting a sonic to a pickup truck would probably be more practical and just as silly looking as having the roof chopped off. Heck maybe somebody can do both? LOL

This being a uni body car and not full frame like the usual hotrod you may find that you will have issues should you cut the roof off or down without adding support

I found myself wondering the same thing. It might be interesting. But indeed extra support may be needed. However I'm not an engineer...it would also be quite costly...

Also I feel the need to add that he is talking about doing a chop top like they do on 40's hot rods. Not removing the roof entirely. Meaning they remove a section from the middle of all the support pillars to lower the roof. But the roof is still intact in the final product. Car is just shorter.

How tall are you?? I am 6'5" and with the seat all the way down you could chop about 3-4 inches out of the top and still have room. The door opening would be smaller and more difficult to get in but once in it would be fine.
