i currently have a 2012 sonic that has a trifecta budget tune that i believe is giving me issues. i found a junkyard that has a stock computer from a 2012 can i just simply swap computers i like i could on my gm pickup.
Hmmm are they the same engine, transmissions? Not sure if that would matter, but the VIN could possibly problem. But maybe Chevy dealer could flash the new one for you, try calling them.
Hmmmm I thought it was on with the light on, off with it off... but that could be reversed...yeah I'd not heard of the budget not having that option... if they're the same I'd say yes you can...might be a hiccup or two when 1st started and paramaters would be different, or other things like that... If the part is cheap enough, I'd swap, but be ready to switch back real quick.
Good idea would be to disconnect positive terminal for about 10 minutes then totally disconnect the battery. This should clear any codes in wherever memory is kept...
I've emailed posted on their forum and also found out where it was purchased from and got no where. It's getting to the point of being unsafe it hits 4k and sputters and losses all power
Well it only happens when it's cold, other people have had the same issue, no codes ever come up, the tune is an old version which I heard had issues, changed the plugged gapped them correctly and changed the plug manifold thingy, the plugs I took out looked like a absolute garbage. And the overall drivabilty sucks 25% throttle is the same if not better than wot.
Regardless, you are going to need a red cable to retune, or tune back to stock. If you take it to a dealer, they will more than likely void any warranty left on the vehicle. It sounds like the person you bought it from, did not take good care of it... Best of luck resolving the issues!
