Hello, I own a 2015 Chevy Sonic LTZ Turbo. Apologies in advance for ignorance, I don't know anything about cars. My car has 60K miles on it and up until 1.5 years ago, had not a single issue. Over a year ago, the car stopped in the middle of the highway (started sputtering then engine turned off and wouldn't restart). I got it towed and was told it was a problem with the ignition coils/where the coil connects or something like that. Something where moisture got into the coils and it eroded, and then had to get the connector fixed I think. I got it fixed and then six months later, it happened again. Then a year later again. And now for the fourth time, car has turned off in the middle of the highway. (It's not always turning off on the highway, sometimes normal roads).
Why do I keep having issues with the coils/the connector? I've taken it to a different shop to get fixed every time, so not a problem with the mechanic I don't think. Has anyone had similar issues? It's turning into a very dangerous situation with the last two times it stopping in the middle of the highway. Need a remedy asap! Thank you!!
