Got a little bored today and fixed up the intake. I had the Injen so it was a "hot air intake" anyway lol. I know this isnt really a DIY but I figured you could get some ideas off of it...
So a quick overview of what I did. I took the Injen intake and cut off most of it up to the MAF. I spun the pipe away from the engine. In doing so you have to increase the length of the MAF sensor wires. Easily done with a bit of wire, solder, and some wire loom.
I bought some extendable hose from Pep Boys for around 20 bucks.
I took out the fog light and fog light housing. Painted the fog chrome to match the wheels.
Next I ran the hose down through where the factory hoses run. The u shaped piping from stock was already removed when I did the foglights previously. After that, I mounted the filter down in the huge area behind the fog bezel.
Everything went very smoothly. I noticed the car seemed a bit smoother and flowed better through the power band. Have to get a cable to send in a data log to see what it did for sure.
The next step is to get a filter cover for the filter itself, then run a screen over the fog housing itself.
Best news is all of this 100% reversable if it needs to go back. Except for the intake. I have the SAB still. Ill just buy the DDM if needed.lol Heres a few pics of it.
