Ddm 1.8 intake install Instructions

Hey guys here is a step by step install for the intake

Tools needed:
5/8 socket
Extension
Ratchet
Flat head screw driver
Philips head screw driver
The included drill bit
Drill or other drilling device


Step one:
Remove entire stock air intake including maf.

Step two:
Install rubber tube to the throttle body

Note: it can be a pain to get on. I went with the twist and push Technique and it made it on.

Tighten down the hose clamp on the throttle body

Step three:
Next you must install the heat shield,

Remove both left and right engine mount bolts with the 5/8 socket

Slide the bottom tab under the a/c lines and set it down on the engine mount stud

the little tube sticks into the stock air box rubber mounting thing

Reinstall all the engine mount bolts and get it good and tight

Step four:
Install the tube

Slides through the hole and tighten the hose clamp.

Step five:

So this can be tricky but is easy.
Take the supplied drill but and open up the holes in the maf

If you use a power drill just go slow and don't rush it. Honesty it should take like 5 sec a hole.

After that, install the maf. Note the Orientation of the wires. If it is Opposite contact Dave.

Last step.

Install the filter and your done!

When your done, do one good going over. Make sure all the clamps are tight and your good!

Apart from the sound , did you notice a difference over the injen intake ?

The injen actually had a better sound. The ddm just feels smoother

Injen= sound. Had a lot of sound
Ddm= performance. Only loud when above 75% throttle.

Ddm flow way more air

Thanks for the write up $ub$onic! I will keep this one in mind when i get mine. I just have one question to ask, how hard was it to remove the stock box and was there alot involved to remove it or was it simply removing some screws or bolts and it just pulls out? Thanks

I will be getting this setup before the end of the year. at least thats my goal. working on saving up for it so i can buy it. As usual something came up so i couldnt buy it as i wanted to the other day. but im working on getting it. its a "Must Have" item for me...

BTW where did you get your spark plug cover from??

It's the stock cover with some carbon fiber Vinyl. It came out ok. I should really redo it when I get some time

Thanks again $ub$onic for this write-up! I will be using this in the morning when i attempt to install the system myself lol. I say this as every time i think something is going to be super easy to do, i find a way to make it harder than it needs to be. Bought some tools to make sure i had everything needed to do this task.

Examined the Engine bay and saw what all i needed and i gotta say whoever installed the strap screw for the throttle body strap needs a good kick in the rear! Who puts that on where the screw head faces the firewall and makes it like almost impossible for those with big hands to get down there and undo that sucka! lol.

Hence why i went out and bought some tools i didnt have yet. A small-Mini Flat and Philips screw driver and socket set since i didnt have a 5/8ths socket anywhere lol. Thought i did but guess not. do now though. Gonna get up in the morning and work on it after its sat over night. Plus i was just too tired today to mess with it. Will post up pictures once its done and installed! opcorn: Wish me luck lol

This question is mostly for DDMWorks. How much oil should the Uni Foam filter have on it? Looking at mine in the bag and there is a lot of oil in the bag, on the rubber connection, and on the clamp. Is this normal? Do I need to just try to get it back into the filter? Should I clean it out before using? This is my first time using a foam filter.
