DDM Looking for 1.8 Owners to Build Intake!

Even with the tune a maf re calibration is a totally new tune and is $70 to update. It's kinda ****ty but what are you gonna do.

The foam filter is just more budget friendly. And it will be cheaper for you for right now.


If I find time this weekend I will do a step by step install to help you guys.

The screws that come for the maf to screw in are m6 screws and it comes with a little drill bit to drill out the holes on the maf. This can be tricky but is easy to do

whoa... I dont recall hearing anyone mention having to drill holes into anything. Seriously. Why do you need to drill holes? does it not come all ready to go out of the box? dont get me wrong here. just i wasnt expecting to hear modification to certain parts are needed to fit this unit together. Just expected a kit that you peice together already parted as needed to be put together.

Please do, do a step by step and take some pics of this paticular part of having to drill holes for (Yes, i understand you have already done this but an idea of what is needed done will help) so we the people who have not done this project yet can follow accordingly and make sure we do this the right way the first time around. I guess i will wait for your DIY How To before i order to make sure it is something i can do myself as i have a feeling if i order this intake kit if i want it on my sonic i will have to do it myself or it wont get put on as business's in my town are pricks when it comes to modifying your car. The holes are no big deal really. I did it by hand vs a drill and it was no big todo.
I kinda like the bigger bolts.

I would go ahead and order it. That is the only thing that needs changed. Hell we could even meet at summit racing and I could do it for you.

I will work on a step by step. Install should take no longer then 30 min from hood open to close.

Well if you say its nothing to worry about then i will likely order it then. I just didnt want to buy it and then have no way to get it on because of something needing done i myself couldnt do. But if all it is, is taking the already drilled holes and making them bigger by drilling them with the (provided drill bit) i assume, then that shouldnt be too rough. I could always borrow my uncles garage for a day when he knows he wont be using it and work on my sonic. He has any tool imaginable. You name it he has it. He's just one of those guys that "If it aint broke, dont fix it" kind of people. so modifying something that is in working condition irritates him lol. But if i say im working on it, he says, garage is yours have at it usually

Fallen I just got my intake today, and I literally followed $ub's tutorial and did it in 20 minutes. Drilling the maf is super easy, I just unclipped it from the wire and drilled both, just go slow. Nothing to worry about

Thanks paradox. will keep that in mind whenever i get the chance to actually buy the intake system Seems like every time i think im going to have the cash to get it something comes up and i have to spend it on that instead. I will be getting one. one way, or another i will have one!

Found a way to lower one of my bills :banana: so now i can start saving up to get this intake!! Im hoping to have the money to make the purchase by November... So soon i will have this nice Air Intake System!

Any Chance the 1.8L Intake System will go on sale anytime soon? Would be cool to get ahold of one at a discounted price. I mean, the regular price is right on for the quality and such. not knocking that at all. just i like the feeling of getting a nice item on sale lol. thanks for any info... If i can get things down a little further and no more issues popping up i think i should be able to get this intake real soon...

Im hoping that if all goes well and i get my sonic back from the dealership on saturday i PLAN on installing my New DDMWorks Intake System onto my Sonic while i have the free time to do so! But, that all rides on whether or not i get my car back this weekend to do that.
