Just a thought, when I did my Redneck intake, I noticed a drop in fuel economy as well. I went back through my data logs, and my throttle input percentage instantly jumped when I put it in. It was all mental. You just have to be conscious of how you are driving.
Tying a helium balloon to your foot should counteract the lead weight that has manifested in your big toe.
I kinda have to agree with this. My gas mileage was not noticeably affected after tuning, putting in the ZZP intake w/o insert, open exhaust, ported intake, ported turbo, or reworking the throttle.
My best mpg with any of these mods was very close, as was my worst and avg mpg. I determine this by running thru several tanks to get a more stable average because unless you drive in laboratory conditions variables can and will show up that affect your mpg.
Looking at gas mileage over several tanks is the only way to get a decent gauge on what mods do for gas mileage. Maybe one tank after the mod was colder, or you got stuck in traffic, or was in a hurry 1 day will give a false indication of what's really going on.
Give it a few tanks and see what happens.
