Disappearing threads?

I've noticed many times I click a link in a thread to another one on this forum and I can't access it. Also there was a thread "my car and trifecta" that I posted in and it's now gone. If they got locked for a reason then I'd understand but they're just gone without much explanation. What gives?

1) The my car and trifecta thread was removed because documentation was received which proved that BNR has been more than supportive and that the member who started the thread was bashing BNR and the tune when in fact he'd been very slow in providing logs and requested information to BNR. That situation is hardly BNR's fault, therefore the thread was removed.

2) As for the links you are clicking that aren't working, give me specifics please.

Many of the links in people's signatures and in old posts do not work after the server switch. I've run across too many to remember any specific ones

So if somebody says something bad about a vendor on this site (even if wrongly, whatever) you're going to take it down? Granted the vendors are probably paying you and supporting the site but at the expense of free speech?

Only when the allegations against them are proven baseless and unfounded. If proven to be true, the thread would remain.

Thanks for clearing that up, Sonic. Folks were mentioning that incident in another thread and it made me a little uneasy. I still think if it were my site I would say what you said and lock the thread to avoid people noticing and becoming upset, but that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Despite whatever he may have said about the vendor, I don't like the idea that you're deleting threads that have useful information in them. Reading this forum makes me shake my head so many times at the amount of misinformed statements/information that I find. Plus we were trying to help the guy fix his problem regardless of the situation.

It's frustrating to see the forum policed like that for what are IMO the wrong reasons, but it's not my forum.

There was no useful information in that thread. The only info in there was that someone was getting bad gas mileage with 42# injectors. What a SHOCK! And then there was bashing of the tune vendor. Well sorry, I saw the conversation between the customer and the tune vendor in its entirety, and it was the CUSTOMERS fault that no resolution had been reached because REPEATEDLY the customer dragged his feet in getting logs to the tune vendor and he even apologized for not sending them logs!

That thread would have shown up in google searches regarding that vendor. Is it fair to that vendor to leave a thread up where they are bashed when it was THE CUSTOMER'S FAULT that no solution had been found for their problem. I'll answer that for you: NO.

These companies invest resources developing and supporting mods for our cars. If we don't protect them from unfair and baseless complaints, they might choose to stop producing products for our cars.

We are done here. A thread that should have been deleted was deleted, GET OVER IT.
