Does your AC Blower Slow Down on your Sonic?

Forgive me if it's been answered before, but sometimes if you have the blower on let's say speed #3 for a while, do you hear it slow down at times and then ramp back up? I had it to the dealer for one of the many warranty trips, but I was wondering if others had this happen. I'm told this is "normal".

Never had this with any GM car I've owned (and I've owned several in 25+ years). I guess I'm used to the old GM systems when they would run full blast at whatever speed you had the blower set to.

Then again, the A6 axial compressor on my '79 Trans Am with a 400 Pontiac engine probably uses the HP of a lawnmower, or in the case of the Sonic, probably half of the total HP of the car itself .

I think so. I'm pretty sure I've heard it turn off and then back on on new camaros and silverados. Or it could be just an overworked radiator fan that I heard. The important part is really that it doesn't blowing cold air I think.
Also the dealer is always going to tell you it's normsl

The dealer may be right (wait did I really just say that?). If you run in recirc mode, the car will periodically switch back to fresh air for a minute or so and then go back to recirc.

When it changes from recirc to fresh air it can sound like the speed is changing, I've noticed in my car it will do this about every 15 to 20 minutes and lasts about a minute. I think I saw this mentioned in the owner manual and I think the reason is to prevent someone from asphyxiating lol.

Could that be what you're noticing? I don't think it does it in the defrost position because even if you have defrost in recirc mode it is still really in fresh air mode.

That's pretty much on point. It is just odd, my 2009 Pontiac G6 doesn't do this. It doesn't really make things uncomfortable...just wondering if others have had it too.
