Doorsill guard tape install

So I had bought some metal door sill plates awhile back...just too chintzy and so I pulled them off.

Bought some door sill guard tape from Xpel
Do-It-Yourself XPEL Doorsill guards

It's a thick black tape that has a very hard texture in it. Just enough in the roll to do all the car (the back section is so small anyways)

I rounded the tape at the ends to make it a little more aesthetic to the eye.

The tape quality is top notch...this stuff will never wear out..

So if you guys are looking for some texture to guard those sills, this stuff isn't bad. I got mine on Amazon.

I wonder how skateboard grip tape would do....

that is a little closer to sand paper? This is just below that, really rough, but no exposed rock bits...

I like it! Looks nice.
The product looks similar to the adhesive grips applied to polymer pistols.

I think I'm gonna give this a shot. My seven year old has slipped on the rear sills a couple times since I've had the car I'm adding this to the mod list. :banana:

My children (who are of the four legged variety) try to jump into the rear of the car. I need something to keep them from scratching the sills, this looks like it might just work.

Nice job - very functional and aesthetically pleasing.

the pics are deceiving. They're just extruded steel with Sonic etched on them. Taped on the back but they didn't fit the curves too well (would pop up), and the passenger side had blue lettering of the lot number of that roll of steel.

Just very cheap.. right concept, just not made worth a crap.

I'd buy TWO roles of this stuff guys, that leaves extra left over. I used the entire role and had EXACTLY enough...

but it is nice stuff...very durable
