I want to swap out the stock intake (thing's ugly and quiet) for a cold air intake. Is it true they help with MPG and horsepower? I'm looking at the Injen SP series and Weapon-R. Any thoughts? What do you use?
1.4T or 1.8?
The Injen also is not a CAI and is actually a HAI since it runs over top of the engine warming the air as opposed to cooling it.
I have a 1.8 and just installed the DDM Works intake at $40 less than the Injen and couldn't be happier. Much louder and when I am not in the higher RPMs to hear it I do see a noticeable increase in MPG.
screw it, just buy silicone couplers, 1 hard tube, 1 flex tube, 1 filter, and 1 filter wrap and tube it behind the fog lol
the only worth mentioning intakes with heat shields are Mpfab or ddm. To locate the above, please visit your nearest Google and search ddmworks or mpfab
