Front License Plated Side Mounting

In my state we have to have front plates. I did not want to have the air intake covered so I decided that it would be mounted over where the fog lights would be. I read that some of you have put it here but there was not really guide on what you did.

I wrote up what I did so someone else should be able to follow it.

At AutoZone I got:
-Self-tapping screws
-License plate mount
-Slim chrome license plate frame

I drilled pilot holes to make it easier for the self tapping screws to secure the mount onto the plastic light bumper piece. It is mounted at three spots.

When I put the plate and bracket on I had to use a dremel to cut one of the included mount screw to half its length because it hit the bumper when screwed in all the way. This single screw is the one that goes on the bottom left.

I think it turned out pretty well.

Yes but it was cheaper form me to do it this way. ~$5 mount ~$2 screws.

OK, i already had one on my Sonic so 0$. I take for granted here in Colorado that some come without them

Looks good and is super cheap. I might go this route in a couple months when I move.

My state is a front license plate state too, but I bought my car in PA, which is not, so mine didn't come with a front mount. So now I need to figure out how I want to mount the stupid plate. My car has foglights, so your placement is not an option for me, though it looks really good on yours. I also don't want to stick it on the grill or drill holes in the bumper. I kinda wanna get one of those hideaway plate mechanisms. Stupid Maryland. There was a bill proposed that would except cars that didn't come with license plate holders from the factory, but it failed in the state gov't.
