Future RS Owner...One Day

Hey everyone I've been lurking for awhile now and decided to become a member. Right now I have a 02 GMC ZR2 with quite a few mods. A D44HP SAS with coilovers & a 5.3 swap on 35s in the near future. In the past I had a 96 s10 with a LS1,T56, and rear 10 bolt with a Detriot locker swap. Had a complete Current Performance Wiring setup (harness,headers,core support,radiator and fans, accessory all of it). Had 300 RWHP and got 28 MPG. I sold it to help buy my house.

Anyway I really like the Sonic but thought GM muted it to much until I saw the RS and liked it better than the regular Sonic. So I'm holding out for it. That's pretty much it. Hope to upgrade everything performance wise when I get one. Also looking at getting a Pontiac G8 GXP. WHEN I build my truck the future RS well be my DD and the G8 will be my weekend car. Looking forward to what comes out for these cars in the future.

Thanks man. Like all vehicles it'll only get better in the future. You guys would have loved my old S10 with the LS1. That thing was a blast to drive.

I haven't had the chance to test a Sonic 1.4 with a MT. Every dealer in a 300 mile radius has the 1.8 auto.

Does anyone know if a Magazine or Company (other than the SEMA cars) have built a Sonic? I know its a new car and has had several delays but I'm surprised no one has jumped on it. I'll chalk it up to newness and somewhat low aftermarket support. I'm impressed with how fast the aftermarket is responding to the car. Gives me hope that it'll catch on like the Cobalt.

When I get my RS here is a list of mods I'd want to do:

*Saibon CF hood,hatch,fenders (fenders painted to match car) hatch and hood cleared
Just to make her lighter
*Trifecta Tune with No Lift Shift
*Aftermarket Clutch
*Intake
*Catback exhaust (not to loud)
*Hopefully by the time I get a RS upgraded Turbo system with charge pipes and such
*Upgrade to LEDs, Headlights, and fogs like ANDREWGS
*And I'll already have factory 18s

I'm keeping my eyes open.

Welcome! Great list of goodies you have planned. I cant wait for someone to have an RS. Couldn't wait myself, so I got the 1.4 LT HB which I love.
We sold my wifes 06 legacy to get our house. Little piece of info for those who don't know, it wont dent your credit for at least a few months buying a house. I bought mine in Oct 11, got the Sonic in Dec 11 and the house still hadn't show up on the credit score.
Drive the 1.8 for $hitz and giggles, they handle the same. I bought my 1.4 w/o testing it. Even if you do get a chance to test a 1.4 it'll still be different, since the RS has different gearing and stiffer suspension
