GM Aluminum Pedal Install

Time: 10-15 minutes

This install is for a manual transmission Sonic. The only difference is one less pedal on the auto.

First, take off the rubber brake and clutch pedal covers (just brake on the auto). No need to remove anything from the accelerator.

Notice the hook on the bottom of the accelerator pedal cover.

Hook the...hook to the bottom of the pedal (make sure it is hooked on. If it gets bent, just bend it back into place, the metal is really soft.)

Repeat this process with the brake and clutch (if applicable)

All done!

Is the grip improved over the rubber ones? To me, those metal ones look like they don't offer much grip and would be slippery. The STi pedal set I had on my WRX looked like a cheese grater and had a TON of grip.

There is much better grip on the aluminum pedals over the stock ones. Forgot how much mu foot slips on rubber pedals over aluminum since my Celica came with aluminum compared to my old Accord. Definately worth the money for the aluminum pedals

Good job on the writeup. I just got these yesterday. Didn't need/use the DIY, as it was simple enough (and the instructions that came with the pedals were understandable, for a change) -- but I can definitely appreciate a good DIY. No matter how simple, it's always good to have one, for those who want to know what they're getting into before the start!
