GM performance exhaust

So I recently just purchased a 2018 Premier (LTZ) and a GM performance Exhaust to go with, and damn this thing sounds good. I’ll link the video below, on my youtube there is a separate video of how it sounds stock.

I ordered my car with the "Performance Package" which included the exhaust, tune, new springs, and front struts. (Apparently it retains the RS rear struts?)

I wish I could have ordered mine with that package, however it was too late in the year and they got this car from another lot for me since I specifically wanted black, the GM accessories are pretty expensive (1500$ CAD) for the exhaust and would have been another 900 for the new springs. 600$ for interior lighting like lol I ordered some off amazon for 20 bucks.

I was very surprised at the increase GM's tune gave the car. While I won't break any records with it, the tune does bring the fun factor to a different level for a stock vehicle.

I took delivery of my car a matter of hours after it got dropped off the truck. I then drove 3 hours home. I was really displeased with the performance of the stock car. It was VERY boring. Tolerable, sure--I knew I was buying a 40mpg car. I just figured it would have a LITTLE more fun in it.
2 weeks later, the box of goodies came into the dealership. No clue why it didn't arrive with the car. I blame small towns. (1400 people, lol) Drove back to them, let them work on it for 8 hours, and I got an actually FUN car back. The top end is still pretty lackluster, but the midrange from 3000-4500 is REALLY where the GM tune wakes the car up.
Now it's got me wanting more, so I've got a downpipe in my basement, and plan on getting with BNR to really wake this thing up.

I'm fighting the urge to do more mods. So far the only other mods I have planned are a CAI I have coming from MP Fab and tune.

I had a Trifecta Tune in my 13 sedan for a fraction of the price of BNRs tune.

What are you're thoughts about the Trifecta tune? Would you use their tune again or try out BNR's tune?

Yes, how was the tune in your 1.8L LS? I’ve got a 2015 5sp LS, might trade it this fall but might hang onto it. Thanks for any info.

To reply to both of you, I noticed a significant difference with the 1.8, expect to get more out of the car now that I have the 1.4 . I would try BNRs tune but I already have the trifecta flash cable. The fate of my Sedan was ignition coil went, dealer wanted to charge me up the butt to fix it so I just gave it to them for the new car. I suggest getting into the newer cars, I personally enjoy the gen 2 more

How long till it gets louder

I think I noticed it getting louder around the 2-3k mile range.

The increase in sound isn't to noticeable at idle even after it's broken in.
This is my only complaint with this exhaust.
Although it doesn't draw unnecessary attention to me either, like the local and state police.

I thought it was louder as the rumble is apparent in the car, let my coworker take it around our building and wasn’t that impressed, but an improvement from stock, not really worth the 1500$ in my opinion but I’ll give it time, thanks for the info!

The exhaust note is more inline with a touring exhaust then a sport exhaust I've heard from GM over the years.

My thought is to why GM went with a touring note was to keep it within noise compliance through out the US states.

While I do agree the price is high for the package, what it does for the car over the stock is worth the cost to me.

thought it would be better, but now I'm thinking it might be a little conservative
on the tune. I also got the GM CAI . they say it only fits up to 2016s...but it fits fine on my 2018..( exterior sheet metal only dif ). they are being crappy about the tune for mass air flow sensor,
and will not authorize the tune. I get a p1101 code from no tune.

Have you looked at something like trifecta? I ran that in my 13’. It’s probably the most noticeable mod you can do to this cars driving wise IMO.
I added a K&N CAI last night and I’m liking the sound a lot more, the turbo is definitely more noticeable.

This is why there's a healthy after market.. & why some of us visit a dealership only for major warranty issues.
