H11 bulbs in fog lights

I'm thinking about putting h11 bulbs in my fog lights on my RS. Do you guys think it'll melt the plastic or damage the wires or anything? I'm aware of filing the metal down on the bulbs too. Just worried about damage. Anybody do it before?

H11 are 55 watt bulbs. H8 are 35 watt bulbs. The H11 will melt your housings. This as per posts on this site. Couple others have done and melted the housings.
