Seems like you could lift it just by pulling the shocks and adding some poly spacers, which would tighten up the ride and push the car up, although I don't think you'd get 2 inches that way.
I think if you're doing this for looks you may also end up wanting a larger tire diameter, although I guess that is a matter of taste, I've seen some cars with a Lot of lift and some tires that are clearly -smaller- than stock diameter.
I haven't seen anyone at all post with a lifted Sonic, and would love to see how it looks... even just photocropped!
It's actually one of the things I've thought about doing, although what I'd like to do is install a hydraulic system that would allow me to run anywhere from really low to really lifted; low for handling and looks, lifted for driving around some of the rutted dirt roads I have to cross sometimes for work purposes. Wouldn't have to be onboard hydraulics, I would be able to hook up to an external compressor, adjust the height, and drive away, I'm not actually looking for the "bounce up and down lowrider" experience, just the multifunctional aspect of it.
