Headlight removal

Hey all im kind of in a hurry so sorry if theres alrdy a post but I need to know how to take the headlights out. Dies anyone know how?

Bulbs or the actual light assembly itself??

Headlights you need to remove the bumper I believe.

Bulbs you just remove the access cover on the rear of light and replace bulbs but on the driver side just pull up gently on the washer fluid tube to get better access to the cover.

Yes to take the whole headlight assembly out u need to remove the front bumper. Now if ur going to do that dont forget there a bolt under the wheel well under the plastic

Ok that doesn't sound fun to me. I wrote that because a few buddies and I were going to tint the taillights and blinkers with 20% film. We did one taillight but the result was....less than satisfactory. It looked good, as in the shade, but it was wrinkled and looked tacky. So, now I'm thinking of either leaving it alone or doing spray tint.

2012 and up

This is what I used on my tails and it goes on so easy my 5 year old nephew can do it and its made for exterior use so it won't wrinkle like regular tint film. Also if you have the Hatch you can remove the lights and that chrome trim ring to make install easier of the film.

I Tint my headlight/taillight with spray and im Proud of the result. It takes some skill with spray and for a better finish you need a car clear for the last layer

I do have a hatch and I did that. It really does make it a lot easier. I will look into it but im not sure if I want to tint them anymore. I like the look but im saveing for a tune and downpipe. Thatll probubly be the last thing on my mod list because then im off to tech school

On a hatch take the two screws out of the body to pull out the taillight, pop out the bulbs and wires, then there are about 8 small Phillips that you can take out and the black cover with the rings pop right off, 4 more screws and the rings are off, I had a late night bad idea of regular tint film when I figured this out....just an FYI for anyone

To replace the bulb for the low beam lights, all I need to do is remove the cover and unplug the clip and pull the bulb? Is there anything else holding the bulb, because it was not moving and it's minus 39 Celsius and my hands were freezing. Maybe I should wait till it gets warmer.

I hit a deer last night on the way to work. Passenger side headlight assembly and the piece of plastic it fastens to are done. Fender is crinkled a bit.

I have to remove the entire front bumper to replace the headlight assembly? I've been pulling the screws from the top and can tell something is holding it in from below.

Anyone done this before? What else is going to be involved? Could we all agree the engineer responsible for this design needs a raise?

Yeah you will need to completely remove bumper to remove headlights unfortunately
