How quarts ATF to refill drained transmission?

Drained all transmission fluid out of my '13 lt 1.8l hatch. Has a leak (which I'll be taking care of on Wednesday) so the amount I drained is not accurate. How many quarts do I need? Since I completely drained it, I believe I'm supposed to add a few quarts then turn car on and add the rest, right? Appreciate any advice.

Probably between 4 and 5 qt. To properly set the level you need to remove the level check plug while the car is level and the transmission is between 185-205F. an OBDII scanner will tell you the temp.

The drain and refill automatic specs are 4.8Q-5.5Q and 8.0Q for a full flush and refill. Make sure when you do the initial fill to have port sight bolt behind the driver side axle and have the trans in neutral to bring the atf fluid up to proper level and let the excess fluid drain until it stops or slowly drips. I usually do 5-5.1Q for a drain and refill personally. And after the refill go thru the gears in the driveway and when the trans is warmed go for a drive.

When I did mine I drained into a pan then put back exactly what came out. It was 4.5 QT .
