So I spent hours trying to figure this out and only found 1 video on YouTube that helped but wasn't the full story. So here it is... step by step instructions.
- Remove the center console by pulling straight back and up on the sides. You'll have to have the e-brake engaged and shift to neutral to have space to pull the console out.

- Cut the leather in the rear of the handle to expose the access point

- Pull out the cover that covers the retaining ring

- Use a pick to pry out the retaining ring

- Under the shifter, disconnect the wire from the plug

- Pull straight up to remove the shifter

-Swap the rubber bumper from the old button to the new button
- Remove the plastic case surrounding the button by prying from the right and left side of the shifter.
- Remove the top/rear cover of the shifter by prying up and back on the plastic center piece.
- Use a small tool to remove the pin holding the button in place (located below the button in front.
- Pull down and forward to remove the button
- Reuse the button or remove the rubber stop and install in the new shifter
- Reinstall the button

- Slide the shifter down and reconnect the connector

- Push down firmly on the shifter to seat it. Test the shift button, if there's no rebound it means the shifter isn't down all the way. Once the button works, start the car and Test the manual shift buttons.

- Re-install the center console and shifter plastic covers
I made a YT video of the process too
